I just had to...Upload all my favorite Christmas icons and put up a Christmasy layout! ^_^ I have an obsession about Christmas, so yeah....

I'm currently enjoying one of my winter pastimes: listening to 1234 by Feist on repeat and smelling a nice candle. ^_^

I think I'm getting a cold, because I keep having fevers, and my head keeps hurting. -_-

Oh, well! I think I might lay down. :)

the layout is cute and I like the christmas icons. I need to find more icons. I'd use some from LJ but they're all tagged and those were paid for and not allowed to be used on any other site but LJ. Oh well LOL.

I'm sorry you're feeling crappy :( It seems like a lot of people are getting sick, the boys are sick too :( I think I'm coming down with another cold too, yucky!

I found all these Christmas ones on Photobucket! :D That is so weird about how makers onlly want their layouts and icons on LJ. *rolls eyes* HEY! I found a way to make your LJ layouts usuable on DW! :D

Haha well I have a premium paid account so you could say I have an infinite number of icons (200 I think) available especially since I decided I didn't want to use someone else's icons so I make them all myself XD I want to come up with my own mood theme too. Mini self-portraits would be cool.

Oh, cool! What kind of program do you use to make them? I use Photoshop 7 for graphics. :) I love to use textures. Even though I love making graphics, I can't stand to use my own. :P

I think that is a cool idea! ^_^ You should do it!

I suck at using textures haha :P For the most part, I use Photoshop CS4 to make them. Except for my SouthPark icon and the one I've called "bloody Lou", they're crops of digital paintings I've made. "Bloody Lou" is a crop of a watercolour and colored pencil drawing.

Oh, textures are easy to use once you learn how. I don't know how different the programs are, but I could find you a tutorial if you'd like. :)

That would be really really sweet if you have time to and don't mind it. I keep looking but all the tutorials I find are like "paint this and then apply the texture" and I'm like "but howwwwwww!? D:"

Let me see if I can do this from memory...

1. Crop your icon.

2. Find the texture you like and copy it(Edit>Copy) and go to your icon. Paste it on top of your icon. (Edit>Paste). Now you have two layers, the texture ontop of the other.

3. Go to the layers box(the one with all the pictures of your layers). Click on your texture layer, and the look at the bottom where those little icons are. Click the second one from the left(if you hover over it, it should say something like "mask layer" or something similar).

4. Make sure the colors on the left side with the two colors are as follows: black on top, white on the bottom.

5. Click on your brushes. Pick out a round brush(should be the top nine of them or so). Then go to opacity on the top bar with the brushes. Make it whatever you like. I usually like 50 for a medium coverage, and higher for less, and lower for more coverage.

6.Now for the fun part! Brush over your icon. All of it! Now you should be seeing your texture and icon mixed together! :D

And that's it! :D Play around with it and have fun.
